Streams of Joy 23 May 2021 Sunday Devotional with Pastor Jerry Eze
READ PASTOR JERRY EZE STREAMS OF JOY DEVOTIONAL FOR SUNDAY 23RD MAY 2021. MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU THROUGH TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL.
TOPIC: INCREASE YOUR SPEED
SCRIPTURE: “And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” (1 Samuel 30:8)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy devotional today.
When David enquired of the Lord in our Focal Scripture, he asked if he could pursue and overtake the enemies that stole from him. David wanted to initiate the process of recovery, and he began speaking of pursuing. The word ‘pursue’ ordinarily conveys a sense of speed. So David’s next accomplishment needed him to move with some speed. He needed to add urgency to his movement. He was not going to recover all by strolling casually.
Friend, if you will recover your lost grounds, and if you will overtake whatever negativity that previously overtook you, then you need to rise to the place of speed. Change your posture from casual and make more haste. Move like one who is in a hurry to achieve the results you seek to achieve. Move like one who is in a hurry to recover your lost grounds. Move like one whose success cannot wait for another day. Move in haste.
David was never going to catch up with his enemies if he strolled all the way to their camp; he wouldn’t have recovered his lost possessions if he moved like one who had nothing to lose. Step up your pace in destiny; stop moving like one who has all the time in the world; stop moving like one who has no competition and competitors; stop moving like one who has no opposition to deal with in destiny; stop moving like the slothful.
David eventually pursued, overtook and recovered all that the enemy took from him. He made movements with speed, he hastened up his movement, and he eventually gained back all that the enemy took away. Speed helped him in the pathway of recovery. If only you would raise your speed level, you will be shocked how you will recover what the enemy took from you. If you raise your urgency and pace, you will overtake.
Increase your speed; raise your urgency level; if you have been walking, start running; if you have been running, start leaping.
Isaiah 35: 3 says: “Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.”
Declare With Me: I raise my speed level, in Jesus’ name!

Pastor Jerry Eze’s Note on Vision…
YOUR VISION:
Your VISION will take on the personality of the Visionary.
Don’t contaminate your VISION by getting your hands and heart dirty by the mess of people.
Your VISION is taking you great places, don’t be surprised when your INNER circle gets smaller. Not everyone can get along.
On your way to the fulfilment of your VISION; you might encounter FAILURE: Failure teaches lessons
Reveals Friends
Exposes Enemies
Rids you of Band-wagoners
Attracts Helpers.
In fulfilling your Vision, everything is doable but it can’t be done all at once. Just break it down into prioritised steps and it becomes doable.
People with small hearts can’t handle your VISION. Don’t take it personal. Its not your problem, its their level.
In accomplishing your VISION, don’t pursue people who don’t consider you a catch. Pray for new relationships.
Always tell yourself the TRUTH as you seek to accomplish your VISION but don’t be hard on yourself. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth but He’s never mean.
As you seek to accomplish your VISION, don’t ever carry the weight fault finders and grudge holders will try to place on you, they aren’t worth one second of your time.
As you fulfil your VISION, stop stressing over how people feel about you or what they say about you. Neither can alter or hinder GOD’S PLAN for you.
Remember, Your VISION demands deep commitment. The deeper the commitment, the greater the fulfillment. Casual commitment is safe but empty. Dig in or get out.
In fulfilling your VISION, you can’t always be Mr/Ms/Mrs NICE and fulfil God’s Will. Pleasing God must be your priority,no matter what people think or say.
I have to stop here, I will continue some other time….Remember, Don’t say, “This situation is too hopeless to trust the Lord”. Say, “This situation would be hopeless if I don’t trust the Lord”.
I forever love you.
Jerry Eze
